Working on getting members for the Regional Advisory Board that assists with the Career & Technical Education Center(CTEC).  The board will meet about 2 times per year.  It used to have members from Newfound but only has Plymouth now.

Regional Board members can help with the school curriculum meets employment needs.  Local Businesses need kids to job shadow and mentoring.

Extended Learner Opportunity (ELO) is looking for volunteers to join the Regional Advisory Board.  This can help determine if the students are learning what is needed in jobs, careers and businesses.  The CTEC offers Culinary Serve Safe program, and all programs have post accreditation.  What is missing is workplace learning.

Contact Randy Cleary if anyone want to bring in a student to job shadow.

The Career & Technical Education Center has 6 programs:  Drafting, culinary, marketing, health and science, multi-media and automotive.

No more building trades, it was challenging to find certified teachers, scheduling, space and lack of students to fill the classes. If anyone wants to see if the school can get it back, need to go through the Administration and School Board.

The Rotary Career Technical Education Grant fits their CTEC program perfectly.  The Club has a new grant program for Plymouth High School students.  $500 will be awarded to one student from each of the 6 technical programs the high school offers.  The programs are drafting, culinary, marketing, health and science, multi-media and automotive.  The students are picked by the teachers in each curriculum.

We will be sending at least 2 students to RYLA, Rotary Youth Leadership Academy.  Some clubs may need help with funds as they have more students than they budgeted for.  District Governor Mike Carrier asked if we can fund and send 2 more?  Steve said we have it in the budget.  There was enough board members to approve this.
